This afternoon, Commissioner Leonard joined City Auditor Lavonne Griffin-Valade, PSU President Wim Wiewel, PSU VP Lindsay Desrochers, and others in celebrating the official opening of PSU's newest building, the ASRC (Academic and Student Recreation Center). In 2007, Commissioner Leonard led the effort to partner with Portland State in the construction of this facility by identifying $14 million in funding from the City to relocate the City's expansive Archive Center from its remote and deteriorating location. The grand opening for the Archive Center, which we blogged about in February, will take place later this Spring.
