The Fox Tower (as with most modern high-rise structures) is equipped with fire pumps. These pumps ensure that adequate water is available on the higher floors for firefighters to use; they also supply building fire sprinkler systems. Firefighters will be evaluating the capabilities of this system, as well as testing new tools and techniques developed for use in the very unlikely event that the system (which has built-in redundancies) fails. This is a rare opportunity for firefighters and the lessons learned will be shared throughout the region to ensure that local responders remain as effective as possible. The Fox Tower is one of the safest high-rise buildings in the region, due to innovative systems and vigilance by building personnel.
