Check out a great succinct documentary about the Portland Loo, made by Shields Films.
In response to the comments made by Victoria Taft at the end of the film, I would just like to add that the Portland Loo really doesn't cost the taxpayers any more than they were already spending, because the money spent on this sanitation project replaced money being spent to keep the City Hall bathrooms open overnight. Furthermore, I predict Loos will save tax payers money in the long-run, because once we get Loos at production prices (we are currently in the bidding process), it will be cheaper than many of the other public restroom facilities to build and maintain, not to mention keeping our streets cleaner because it offers more places to relieve oneself.
